About

Hymie and Brandy Witthoft founded The Bandwitts during Brandy’s career in the U.S. foreign service. For seventeen years, they lived in Africa, Central Asia, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Soaking up the local sounds and performing in an array of ensembles, they shared and showcased American roots music along with their original pieces.

Now back stateside, they have a refreshed lineup that includes Hymie on drum set and percussion, Brandy on bass, Jason King on guitar, and Joanne Perry on mandolin. They craft music that crosses genres and makes use of rich vocal harmonies to tell stories of the shared human experience.
